IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal Breaks Silence on IPL Cancellation… Here’s What He Said!
Amidst uncertainty following the abrupt cancellation of the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala, Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Arun Dhumal has addressed the growing concerns over the tournament's continuation.

Tensions have escalated between India and Pakistan, raising security alarms across the northern regions. In light of aerial strike warnings issued for Jammu and Pathankot, the match scheduled for Thursday night between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was called off midway. This has sparked widespread speculation regarding the possible suspension or cancellation of the entire tournament.

Responding to these developments, Arun Dhumal told PTI, “We are closely monitoring the situation. The tension between India and Pakistan continues. As of now, there are no directives from the central government. We will make decisions regarding the conduct of the league after considering all factors.”

Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia dismissed the rumors of a full IPL cancellation. “These are baseless reports. So far, only the match in Dharamshala has been cancelled. We have multiple venues across the country. There is no emergency meeting being held by the BCCI. We urge everyone not to spread false information,” he stated in a media release.
