Rajnath Singh: 100 Militants Eliminated in Pakistan, PoK Strikes

The Indian government has officially announced that 100 terrorists were killed in the ongoing military campaign titled 'Operation Sindoor'. This disclosure came during an all-party meeting held earlier today, where Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh briefed political leaders about the operation’s progress and objectives.

Rajnath Singh revealed that the Indian Army conducted precision missile strikes on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). “We have carried out targeted missile strikes on nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK, resulting in the elimination of 100 militants. We are awaiting further details related to the strikes. Due to the prevailing tense situation, we are currently unable to disclose all operational specifics. Our intention is not to escalate tensions, but if Pakistan indulges in provocations, we will respond firmly. Operation Sindoor will continue,” said Rajnath Singh.

Congress leader and Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi, who attended the all-party meeting, declared full support for the government's actions. “We fully support the measures taken by the central government for the sake of the nation. The opposition stands united behind the government on Operation Sindoor. As stated by Minister Rajnath Singh, the operation is ongoing,” said Rahul Gandhi.

Following the meeting, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju addressed the media and emphasized the responsible stance taken by opposition parties. “The Defence Minister clearly explained the details and objectives of Operation Sindoor to the opposition leaders. Since the operation is still underway, he could not reveal technical specifics. The opposition behaved with great maturity and expressed complete support to the government. There is no room for politics on this matter,” said Kiren Rijiju.

The strike comes in retaliation to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 26 innocent civilians, including tourists, lost their lives. In a pre-dawn offensive on Wednesday, India targeted major terrorist hubs in Pakistan and PoK. Under 'Operation Sindoor', the Indian Army dismantled nine terrorist camps affiliated with three prominent terror organizations—Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen. The attack reportedly resulted in the deaths of 10 family members of Jaish chief Masood Azhar.
