Operation Sindoor Successful, Prime Minister Modi Briefs Cabinet
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday briefed the Union Cabinet about the details of "Operation Sindoor," a military operation carried out by Indian armed forces. As part of this operation, Indian troops conducted targeted strikes early Wednesday morning on nine terrorist camps located across the border. Prime Minister Narendra Modi informed the Cabinet that these attacks were carried out exactly according to the pre-determined plan and were executed successfully without any errors.

The Prime Minister explained that this military action was undertaken in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians. He stated that the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force conducted this operation in close coordination, and commended the professionalism and commitment of the armed forces to national security. According to reliable sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the dedication of the security forces, calling their expertise commendable. The Cabinet ministers unanimously expressed their support for the Prime Minister’s leadership and the military’s efforts in combating terrorism.

The strikes were conducted under the codename “Operation Sindoor,” and Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally oversaw the mission. It is reported that the operation was named in tribute to the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam attack.

On Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with two women officers from the Indian Armed Forces—Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh—addressed a press briefing. They revealed that the strikes were conducted between 1:05 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. based on credible intelligence inputs. They clarified that the primary objective of the operation was to destroy terrorist infrastructure across the border, including launch pads used to infiltrate terrorists and training centers.
