India Defends Strikes on Terror Camps; China Calls for Immediate Halt

China has expressed serious concern over the military strikes conducted by Indian armed forces targeting terrorist camps located not only in Pakistan’s mainland but also within Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Beijing urged both nations to exercise restraint and called for an immediate halt to India's "Operation Sindhoor" in order to prevent further escalation of tensions between the two countries.

Calling it unfortunate that a neighboring country like Pakistan had to face such strikes, a Chinese government spokesperson from Beijing said, "We are deeply concerned about the current situation. We urge both nations to refrain from any actions that could further complicate the dispute." The spokesperson explicitly demanded that India cease its military operations immediately.

India, on the other hand, clarified that the attacks were retaliatory measures carried out in response to the killing of innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22. According to the Indian government, the operation targeted terrorist camps belonging to globally banned outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
