DMK’s A. Raja Safe After Unexpected Stage Incident Caught on Video

A minor mishap occurred during a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party meeting held in Tamil Nadu. DMK Member of Parliament and former Union Minister A. Raja narrowly escaped injury when a large light fixture suddenly collapsed while he was delivering a speech on stage. Fortunately, he emerged unscathed from the incident. A video capturing the moment is now going viral on social media.

The event took place on May 4 in Mayiladuthurai, where the DMK organized a public meeting. According to reports, the gathering was held to celebrate the birthday of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and to mark the party’s legal victory in a matter involving the Governor.

While A. Raja was addressing the audience from the dais, a heavy light fixed to a steel rod abruptly fell directly onto the microphone in front of him. Preliminary information indicates that strong winds may have caused the light stand to shift, leading to the sudden collapse.

As the light landed directly on the microphone, A. Raja escaped without harm. The unexpected turn of events startled both the audience and the leaders present on stage. Staff members promptly intervened to manage the situation. Once it was confirmed that A. Raja was safe, the gathering resumed as scheduled.
