In a momentous event, the Rajanna Sircilla district in Telangana State proudly celebrated the grand opening of its very first medical college. The inauguration was a special occasion graced by Telangana's Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). The inauguration ceremony took place at the newly established medical college and attracted a diverse crowd, including students, aspiring doctors, teachers, and government officials.
Minister KTR, known for his active involvement in progressive projects in the state, looked back on his own pursuit of a medical education. He shared openly, "In 1993, I couldn't get a spot in a medical college even though I had a respectable rank of 1600 in the Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)."
I didn't become a doctor or an IAS officer; I became a political leader," stated KTR
Despite his past challenges, Minister KTR expressed his delight at the current situation, highlighting the numerous opportunities available to young, aspiring doctors in the region. He reassured them by saying, "But now, you are fortunate because Telangana will produce 10,000 doctors from both private and government colleges." His words resonated with the aspiring medical students in attendance, offering them a message of hope and encouragement.
