Police mentally harassed me: Chandrababu Naidu

Vijayawada: TDP leader Chandrababu made significant claims during his appearance before an ACB court judge. He alleged that he experienced psychological harassment while in CID custody, with police keeping him on the road until 6 am on Sunday morning. Chandrababu also expressed concerns about the live broadcast of his police interrogation, asserting that such action lacked proper authority. He had been arrested in connection with a case involving the establishment of skill development centers by the CID police. During his appearance at ACB court in Vijayawada on Sunday morning, Chandrababu testified before Magistrate Himabindu. He disclosed that, while in CID custody, he underwent medical examinations and tests at Vijayawada Government Hospital, which revealed increased blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Chandrababu provided insights into the circumstances surrounding his arrest, stating that CID DIG Raghurami Reddy and Case Investigation Officer Dhanunjay arrived at his location between 5:00-5:30 am on Saturday, presenting him with an arrest notice. When inquired about the case's specifics, he received no response. When asked if the police mistreated him, Chandrababu clarified that there was no physical mistreatment but alleged continuous mental harassment. He noted that he was initially provided with the FIR and arrest notice, with the remand notice given shortly before his court appearance. Chandrababu contended that his arrest was made without essential evidence and criticized the CID DIG for interrogating him, as he was not the designated investigating officer for the case.
