Baahubali scene repeated in Asifabad

Asifabad: The Komuram Bhim Asifabad district has been pounded by relentless rainfall over the past 48 hours, leading to the swelling of rivers. In the village of Kerameri, located in the Luccapur mandal, a heart-wrenching incident unfolded when a child, less than a year old, fell seriously ill. The child had been grappling with a persistent fever for several days, which refused to relent despite various home remedies. Adding to the predicament, the heavy rains had already caused the nearby streams to overflow their banks. In their urgent quest for medical attention in the neighboring town of Kerameri, the family faced a formidable obstacle. The path to their destination required them to traverse a stream coursing through their village, now swollen and treacherous due to the heavy downpour. Trapped in this predicament and with no bridges in sight, the family resorted to an act of extraordinary courage, reminiscent of the famous scene from the movie "Baahubali." Just as depicted in the film, they lifted the ailing child in their arms and valiantly crossed the tumultuous stream. Ultimately reaching Kerameri, the child received the vital medical care required. However, Ravi, the child's father, expressed deep frustration over the recurring issue of inaccessible bridges during periods of flooding. He revealed that villagers routinely faced life-threatening river crossings in their quest for essential supplies like food and medication. Ravi further disclosed that despite a government allocation of Rs. 2.70 crore in 2016 for the construction of a bridge, progress had been painfully slow. Three different contractors had been appointed, yet the construction remained incomplete.
