All You Need To Know About 'One Nation, One Election', Pros And Cons Of Simultaneous Polls

In a step towards making elections simpler, the government has set up a group led by former President Ram Nath Kovind. Their goal is to think about whether it's possible to hold both general and state elections together, known as 'One Nation One Election.' This could save time and money. Even JP Nadda, who is in charge of the BJP, met with the former President to discuss this idea. This decision came just after hearing that the government might present a 'One Nation, One Election' proposal during a special meeting in Parliament. This important meeting is planned from September 18 to 22. The former President will also check if this plan can really work and how the country can go back to having national and state elections at the same time, like before 1967, as per sources. The ex-president is expected to talk with experts and have discussions with leaders from different political parties about whether the idea of 'one nation, one election' can really work. It's also a good idea to understand the possible advantages and disadvantages of this concept.
