Chilean-born man adopted in the US meets his real mother in emotional reunion. Jimmy Lippert Thyden, who grew up in Arlington, Virginia, finally met his birth mother, Maria Angelica Gonzalez, in Chile. When they saw each other, he cried and said, "hello mum". In 1980, hospital staff in Santiago, Chile, wrongly told Ms. Gonzalez her baby died. But he was actually adopted by a US family. With the help of charity Nos Buscamos and DNA tests, Mr. Thyden found his mother and also learned he has four brothers, a sister, and many cousins in Chile. This group has already helped over 450 people find their families.
