Khanapur BRS MLA Rekha Naik likely to join Congress today?

Hyderabad: Ajmeera Rekha Naik, the MLA of Khanapur in Nirmal District, is set to make her entry into the Congress on the morning of Tuesday. Following suit, her husband Shyam Naik had already joined the Congress on Monday. The President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Revanth Reddy, extended the invitation to Shyam Naik to become a part of the party. Interestingly, Rekha Naik's name was noticeably absent from the initial list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections, a roster that was revealed by the President and Chief Minister KCR on Monday. This circumstance prompted her decision to switch her party affiliation. BRS has made the decision to put forth Johnson Naik as the candidate for Khanapur. This choice has sparked discussions within the party circles. Johnson Naik, who has risen to prominence, will be contesting from Khanapur instead of the incumbent MLA Rekha Naik. Hailing from Metpally in Jagtial district, Johnson Naik previously served as the party's working president and was also a fellow student of Minister KTR during their time at Nizam College in Hyderabad.
