Press Meet LIVE: Yarlagadda Venkatarao Leaves YSRCP, Eyes TDP Membership
Gannavaram's prominent leader, Yarlagadda Venkatarao, has declared his decision to depart from the YSRCP. He is now aiming to join the TDP and has expressed his interest to meet its party leader, Chandrababu. During a close-knit meeting with his supporters in Vijayawada, Venkatarao expressed his aspiration to contest from Gannavaram under the TDP banner in the forthcoming elections.
Yarlagadda is confident that if he is given a ticket, he will secure an MLA position and wants to present it as a tribute to the party. He cheekily mentioned his future plans to encounter Jagan at the assembly.
Reflecting on his past, Venkatarao highlighted that even after obtaining a US green card in 2005, his passion for politics drew him back to Gannavaram. He recalled his dedication and commitment, mentioning his efforts to connect with the people by visiting homes. He emphasized the unwavering support he received from his activists even during challenging times.
He expressed his disappointment with the YSR Congress party leadership. Despite his sincere efforts in fortifying YSRCP's presence in Gannavaram, he felt undervalued. He raised concerns about the changing metrics for allocating tickets and hinted at being sidelined.
Lastly, he brushed off rumors of having met TDP's Chandrababu, Nara Lokesh, and Devineni, and subtly thanked CM Jagan for not offering him a position or ticket.
