Tamil Nadu Prisons Help Women Convicts Find Jobs at Petrol Pump

Tamil Nadu's prison department is getting positive feedback for offering jobs to female convicts at a Chennai petrol station. Customers applaud the move, believing it helps the women shed the 'prisoner' label. The initiative aims to reintroduce these women, who served time for various crimes, to society. This helps reduce stigma when they're released, according to a statement by Puzhal police. Nikila Nagendra, the Superintendent Police of Puzhal prison, told NDTV that the job not only gives them confidence and a means of income but also helps them blend back into everyday life.
