Following the official renaming of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library to the Prime Ministers' Museum and Library Society, the Congress party has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pursuing a singular agenda of "denying," "distorting," "defaming," and "destroying" the legacy of Jawaharlal Nehru. Despite this perceived assault, the opposition party maintains that Nehru's enduring legacy will persist, serving as an inspiration for future generations. In a social media post, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh remarked, "Today marks the transformation of an iconic institution. The globally renowned Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) now stands as PMML—Prime Ministers' Memorial Museum and Library."
