US House To Declare 15th August India's Independence Day as National Day Of Celebration

A proposal has been made in the US Congress to celebrate India's Independence Day on August 15th as a National Day of Celebration in the US. This resolution, put forth by Congressman Thanedar and supported by Buddy Carter and Brad Sharman, highlights the bond between the two largest democracies in the world. Many Americans of Indian descent serve in roles like government officials, soldiers, and law enforcement, contributing to the nation's diversity and upholding American law. This idea was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US in June.
