Tilak Varma Joins Elite Club: Second Youngest Indian to Reach T20I Fifty

In a thrilling showdown between India and West Indies at the Providence Stadium, Tilak Varma displayed his remarkable skills on the international stage once again. Despite a shaky start for India's batting lineup, the 21-year-old batter showcased his prowess, crafting a brilliant knock of 51 runs off 41 balls in the second T20I match of the five-game series. Varma's impressive performance not only steadied India's ship after an initial stumble but also earned him a notable accolade. The young cricketer has etched his name in the record books as the second-youngest Indian to score a half-century in men's T20I history. Achieving this feat at the age of 20 years and 271 days, Varma's achievement follows closely behind Rohit Sharma, who still holds the title of the youngest Indian to achieve this milestone, having accomplished it at the age of 20 years and 143 days. Tilak Varma's extraordinary fifty in Sunday's match now stands as the second youngest by any Indian player in the T20I format, surpassing the previous record held by Rishabh Pant.
