Viral video: Farmers forced to dump apples in stream

Himachal Pradesh: Apple growers in the upper parts of Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh, are facing significant challenges due to weather extremities impacting roads. With roads blocked or rendered non-motorable due to heavy rains, floods, and landslides, transportation of produce to markets has become an arduous task for these farmers. A distressing video circulating on social media showcases farmers resorting to dumping their crops in a water stream. They express their frustration, stating that the road closures have left them with no option but to take such extreme measures. Allegedly, the administration has not provided adequate assistance, leading to fears that more farmers may face similar difficulties in the future.
