Concerns over cracked approach road to Karimnagar's Cable Bridge

Karimnagar: The recently constructed cable bridge in Karimnagar faced a setback as the approach road leading to it developed concerning cracks. Karimnagar Congress city branch president, Komati Reddy Narendra Reddy, expressed alarm upon learning about the issue. Congress leaders inspected the road and expressed their displeasure, alleging that the construction work lacked quality. Photos and videos of the sagging and cracked approach road were shared with the media, highlighting the concerns raised by the Congress leaders. It was alleged that the road had collapsed within a month, and the contractor attempted to hide the cracks by covering the side walls. Congress leader Komati Reddy Narender Reddy squarely blamed the poor quality of construction for the road's collapse. Additionally, the Congress leaders raised objections to the narrowness of the road when vehicles passed through, leading them to halt tippers and deploy police guards. Minister Gangula Kamalakar was demanded to take responsibility for the incident. Allegations have been circulating that the ambitious cable bridge project, touted as the largest in the South, has shown signs of compromised quality within just four days of its inauguration over the Maneru river.
