Tourists rescued after getting stranded at Mutyandhara waterfalls, Mulugu

Mulugu: A group of around 82 tourists, hailing from Warangal and Karimnagar areas, found themselves stuck in the remote sanctuary of Mutyamdhara Falls during heavy rainfall. The incident came to light on Wednesday night when Tirumal from Huzurabad, Karimnagar district, alerted the authorities via dial 100, as the route back became impassable due to the sudden overflow of Mamidivagu. Upon receiving the distress call, Minister Satyawati promptly ordered the deployment of NDRF and DDRF teams to the sanctuary for rescue operations. In a statement, the minister assured that the victims were safe and that the NDRF team had taken charge of the rescue efforts. Mulugu District SP personally communicated with the stranded tourists, emphasizing the importance of not attempting to cross the stream and advising them to find high ground and ensure their mobile batteries were secure. To execute the rescue mission, NDRF and DDRF teams departed in four buses from Ethurunagaram and reached Veerabhadravaram by 11 pm. From there, they continued on foot for about 8 kilometers, finally reaching the stranded tourists around 1:30 am. Despite extremely adverse conditions, the dedicated rescue teams provided essential supplies like food, drinking water, and snacks to the stranded individuals. The rescue operation proved successful as the NDRF teams managed to bring the tourists to safety at approximately 2:20 am. The authorities, including Minister Satyavathi Rathore, have expressed relief and satisfaction over the successful rescue operation, ensuring the well-being of the rescued tourists.
