High Court Setback: Minister Srinivas Goud's Plea to Dismiss Election Petition Rejected

In a significant development, the High Court of Telangana has delivered a setback to the Minister for Excise and Sports, Srinivas Goud, as it rejected his plea to dismiss a petition challenging his election. The petition challenging Minister Srinivas Goud's election was filed by Mahbubnagar voter Raghavendra Raju. In the petition, Raju alleged that the Minister had submitted false certificates in his election affidavit. The High Court, after due consideration, allowed the petition to be heard, marking a major legal blow to the Minister. To counter the challenge, Minister Srinivas Goud had approached the Supreme Court, seeking the dismissal of the petition. However, the Supreme Court refused to interfere in the matter and referred the objections raised by Srinivas Goud back to the High Court for consideration. Undeterred, Minister Srinivas Goud then approached the High Court, contending that the petition against him did not warrant a hearing. However, after hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court dismissed the Minister's objection and allowed Raghavendra Raju's petition to proceed for further consideration.
