Man ties leopard to bike with rope in Karnataka, video shocks netizens
In Karnataka, a man was observed riding a motorcycle with a 9-month-old leopard securely fastened to the back of the vehicle. A video showcasing this unusual sight quickly spread across the internet.
The rider, who goes by the name Muthu and hails from Bagivalu village in Hassan district, explained that he was transporting the leopard to the forest department.
Muthu recounted his encounter with the wild animal at his farm, stating that he felt compelled to restrain the leopard in self-defense. Using a rope, he managed to secure the leopard's limbs to the rear of his motorcycle and proceeded towards the forest department office. Unfortunately, Muthu sustained minor injuries to his hand during the cub's capture.
Forest department officials confirmed that Muthu had no malicious intentions. They attributed his improper handling of the cub to a lack of awareness. An official commented, "Muthu did not have any ill intentions. Although he mishandled the cub, it was due to a lack of knowledge."
Authorities from the forest department affirmed that the leopard was weak and posed no threat. The cub was promptly taken for medical treatment and is presently under observation. Meanwhile, Muthu has been scheduled for a counseling session to enhance his understanding of handling similar situations and to raise awareness.
