June 19, 2023, marks the commencement of the ninth phase of Haritha Haram, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of the state of Telangana. Chief Minister KCR honored the milestone at the Harithotsavam program held at Thummaluru Urban Forest Park in Ranga Reddy district. Addressing the attendees, the Chief Minister reminisced about the launch of the Haritha Haram initiative in 2015, just a week after his assumption of office. He reflected on the challenging environmental situation that Telangana faced at that time, with scant greenery and drought-stricken forests. The Chief Minister further recounted the struggles of the farmers, who had been suffering due to a lack of rainfall, leading to the failure of multiple borewell projects. To motivate others and advocate for a greener Telangana, KCR revealed that he composed poems centered around themes of rain and monkeys, symbolizing nature and environmental consciousness.
