Actress Ameesha Patel surrenders in cheque bounce case

Prominent Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel presented herself before the Ranchi Civil Court this Saturday, related to an ongoing cheque bounce dispute. Following her surrender, the court sanctioned her release on conditional bail, with a mandate to make a physical appearance on June 21. The case has its roots in 2018 when Ameesha Patel attended an event at Harmu Ground in Ranchi, where she met Ajay Kumar Singh, the owner of Lovely World Entertainment. Their interaction led to discussions about the potential financing of a film project. Singh made a substantial investment in the film, but the project was never realized. In response, Singh requested Patel return his funds. She attempted to repay the Rs 2.50 Crore sum via a cheque that subsequently bounced. This is not the first time Ameesha Patel has faced legal troubles related to cheque bounce cases. In November 2021, she was in the news for a similar issue when a cheque of Rs 32.25 lakh, intended for UTF Telefilms, also bounced.
