India Sets World Record: 100 Km Road Constructed in 100 Hours for Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway
In an unprecedented display of speed and efficiency, the Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway has shattered previous records by constructing a 100 km stretch of bituminous concrete road within a mere 100 hours. This monumental achievement has secured a new global record for the swiftest completion of a road of this size.
The expressway, which spans 118 kilometers with six lanes, serves as a critical conduit between Ghaziabad and Aligarh, two bustling cities located in Uttar Pradesh, India. The development and construction of this mega-infrastructure project was spearheaded by a consortium led by Cube Highways and included an array of various companies.
The rapid completion of the expressway can be credited to the utilization of pioneering technologies and the dedicated efforts of an exceptionally skilled workforce. The consortium deployed a specialized form of bituminous concrete, uniquely designed for quick and seamless application. The workers on the project committed themselves to round-the-clock labor to ensure the project's prompt completion.
Nitin Gadkari, the Indian Minister of Road Transport and Highways, underscored the paramount importance of the Ghaziabad-Aligarh segment of NH34, which is a crucial transportation lifeline connecting densely populated areas over its 118-kilometer span. Gadkari praised the project's dedication to sustainability and cost-effectiveness, particularly the employment of Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR) technology.
This avant-garde green technology focuses on the maximum utilization of the milled material, recycling an astonishing 90% of it to cover nearly 20 lakh square meters of road surface. As a consequence, the need for new materials was cut down to a scant 10%, underlining the project's commitment to environmentally conscious practices.
The Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway's successful completion within an astonishingly short timeframe underlines the power of state-of-the-art technologies and effective project management within the realm of road construction.
