Delhi Bus Driver Suspended for Ignoring Women at Bus Stop: Viral Video Sparks Action

The Delhi government has taken action against a bus driver who allegedly failed to stop for women passengers at a bus stop. A video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting swift action by the authorities. In the video, three women can be seen attempting to board the bus as it stops momentarily for a passenger to disembark. However, to their dismay, the driver quickly accelerates without waiting for the women. Following the identification of the bus driver, the Delhi government has suspended him, as confirmed by a government official. Expressing his concerns over such incidents, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that some drivers intentionally ignore women passengers due to the provision of free travel for them. He emphasized that strict measures would be taken against any driver found guilty of such behavior. "We will not tolerate drivers who refuse to stop for women passengers. I urge all male and female bus drivers to adhere to their duty and stop at designated bus stops," tweeted Chief Minister Kejriwal. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot echoed the Chief Minister's sentiments and encouraged the public to record such incidents and share them with the government for necessary action. The Delhi government's swift response demonstrates its commitment to ensuring the safety and convenience of women passengers in the city's public transportation system.
