India Qualifies for WTC Final with Series Win over Australia Despite 4th Test Draw
The fourth and final Test match between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium has ended in a draw, resulting in India winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series 2-1 and retaining the trophy on their home ground. Despite over an hour left in the game, both teams agreed to call it a draw as the outcome had become inevitable. This marks India's 16th consecutive series win at home and the fourth consecutive series between India and Australia to end with a scoreline of 2-1.
India's victory in this series has secured their spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final for the 2021-23 cycle, scheduled to take place at The Oval on June 7. This qualification came after New Zealand's thrilling last-ball victory by two wickets over Sri Lanka at the Hagley Oval on Monday.
