Minister Talasani Slams Central Govt; Says Despite Official Snub, RRR Won Oscar 2023

According to Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Telugu film industry has not been receiving sufficient support from the Central government since its inception. However, after the recent success of RRR at the 2023 Oscars, the Minister expressed his pride in the Telugu film industry's achievement and its potential in the Indian film industry. Despite the film's immense popularity, SS Rajamouli's RRR was not selected as India's official entry for the 95th Academy Awards in 2023, which was a disappointment to many industry professionals and trade members who believed it to be the most deserving candidate. The Film Federation chose Chhello Show (Last Film Show), a Gujarati movie, over RRR. The Minister alleged that RRR was able to make it to the Oscars through a private platform, and ultimately won the award. However, it is unfortunate that such a significant achievement could not receive official recognition and support from the government.
