LIVE: Sonia Gandhi Announces Retirement

Sonia Gandhi, once considered the most powerful woman in India, has seemingly announced her retirement from politics. Her statement at the Congress plenary in Raipur seems to suggest that she is hanging up her boots for good. “I’m happy that my political innings has drawn to a close with the Bharat Jodo Yatra. It has come as a turning point to the Congress party and brought the party closer to the masses," Sonia said. The fact that Sonia explicitly stated that her political journey ended with the Bharat Jodo Yatra has raised speculation that she may no longer be active in the party or national politics. Many are wondering if this is indeed the end of Sonia's political career. Sonia went on to thank Rahul Gandhi for successfully leading the Bharat Jodo Yatra and expressed hope that Congress would regain its strength under his leadership. Her comments on retirement have since captured social media's attention.
