Honour killing: Father kills daughter and severs head in shocking incident in Nandyal

Nandyal: In a shocking incident, a father in Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh has been arrested for killing his own daughter and severing her head and torso. The incident occurred in Alamur village, where the deceased, identified as Prasanna, had come to stay at her parents' home due to some family disputes. Prasanna had been married to a software engineer in Hyderabad for two years before the incident. According to sources, Prasanna's father, Devendra Reddy, suspected that his daughter was still in love with another man and that this was the reason she was staying away from her husband. Devendra Reddy was reportedly angry with his daughter's behaviour and strangled her to death. After killing his daughter, Devendra Reddy took her dead body to a nearby forest area on the Nandyal-Giddalur road, severed her head from the torso, and dumped the two parts at different locations. He returned home as if nothing had happened. Devendra Reddy was arrested on Thursday after a complaint was filed by his family members. He has confessed to the crime, saying that he killed his daughter because of "honour". The police have seized Prasanna's head and torso. The case is currently under investigation.
