Hyderabad's BRS working president and Telangana IT minister, KT Rama Rao, responded to the recent Income Tax survey of the British Broadcasting Corporation's (BBC) Delhi office and Mumbai studio. He referred to agencies such as the IT department, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) as "laughing stock" for becoming the "biggest puppets" of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a tweet, KTR expressed his surprise at the IT raids on the BBC India offices, which occurred a few weeks after the channel aired a documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He questioned what could be next, whether it would be ED raids on Hindenburg or a hostile takeover attempt. KTR tweeted as "What a surprise!! A few weeks after they aired the documentary on Modi, BBC India now raided by IT. Agencies like IT, CBI and ED have become laughing stock for turning into BJP’s biggest puppets. What next? ED raids on Hindenberg or a hostile takeover attempt?"
