Sania Mirza breaks down during farewell speech; says playing in front of son was truly special

In a dramatic finale to her illustrious career, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and her partner Rohan Bopanna fell short of winning the mixed doubles final at the Grand Slam tournament. Despite putting up a tough fight, the duo were unable to secure the victory in what was Mirza's final match as a professional player. As she took the court to give her final speech, Mirza broke down in tears, paying tribute to the Rod Laver arena where the match was held. "This arena has been special to me and I couldn't think of a better place to end my career," she said. She also mentioned that it was incredible to play in front of her son Izhaan. Throughout her career, Mirza has earned six major titles, including three women's doubles and three mixed doubles trophies.
