Tension erupted when police at Rayadurg in the Anantapur district house-arrested the former minister Kalava Srinivasulu. In Bommanahal mandal, Srinivasulu planned to organise a padayatra in protest of the government whip Kapu Ramachandra Reddy's alleged involvement in an illegal sand mafia. The police prevented Kalava Srinivasulu from taking part in the demonstration by detaining him. He was prohibited from leaving the house. But Srinivasulu scaled the wall and organised a dharna. The cops later detained him. On the other hand, there is a significant police presence and a large inflow of TDP supporters, which has created a tense situation at Kalva Srinivasulu's home.
