Making every attempt to shorten the duration of the visa interview appointment in India: US

A top State Department official stated that the US is doing everything possible to shorten the wait for a visa interview appointment in India and that the visa processing is recovering more quickly than anticipated and is anticipated to return to pre-pandemic levels over the course of the upcoming year. Ned Price, a spokesperson for the State Department, said during his daily news conference that he understands the difficulties of those who must wait a long time and addressed the rising concern over the backlog of visa applications from nations like India. We acknowledge that some applicants may still experience prolonged visa wait times, and we're making every effort to further reduce visa interview appointment wait times as quickly as possible in India and throughout the world, including for first-time tourist visa applicants, the official said. We issued nearly 1,25,000 student visas. As immigration restrictions have loosened in numerous nations and people are looking for possibilities to come to the US, he claimed that demand for visa services has only grown.
