Police resort to lathi charge on BJP workers in Marriguda

Munugode: Police resorted to a lathi charge at Marriguda in Munugode constituency to disperse Bharatiya Janata Party workers who were gathered in groups alleging many non-local TRS activists are in Marriguda on polling day. Section 144 was in force around all polling booths and gathering in groups at polling centres is banned. 11.2 per cent of voting reported till 9 am. Police resorted to the lathi charge after the BJP activists tried to stay protesting on road. BJP leaders are questioning why the TRS non-locals are staying in Munugode. The polling for Munugode byelections began today at 7 am.
