NDTV on Munugode campaign trail with 'Rs 18000 Crore' man
The resignation of a Congress MLA who joined the BJP caused the byelection in Munugode, which is being referred to as the most expensive in India. A significant campaign has been launched against Komatireddy Rajagopal, the BJP candidate, with the claim that he converted from the Congress to the BJP in exchange for receiving a Rs 18,000 crore Central government contract. On his campaign route, BJP candidate Munugode Komatireddy Rajagopal spoke exclusively to NDTV's Uma Sudhir.
According to Telangana BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, the ruling party has not provided even a single rupee for the development of his constituency in the three and a half years since he was elected as an MLA. He has alleged that the development was restricted to ruling party leaders constituencies only.
The BJP leader responded to a query by explaining why he chose to join the BJP rather than the TRS.
To a question of a quid pro quo for getting a Rs 18,000 crore Central government contract, Mr. Rajgopal Reddy has alleged that it is a false allegation against him by KCR's government. He has supported his assertion by pointing to the worldwide and interstate tendering procedure that the TRS administration employed.
