A video of the Bhongir Congress MP making an open prediction that the Congress will lose the byelection surfaced online hours after an audio clip of Congress candidate Komatireddy Venkat Reddy pleading with a party leaders to support his brother and BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy was leaked. In response to these statements, Uttam Kumar Reddy, the former president of the Telangana Congress Unit, said that it is not appropriate to speak at this time and that the AICC will take note of it. He has expressed faith in Palvai Sravanthi, the party's candidate, to win the election. According to Mr. Uttam Kumar, the Congress party is contesting the election with the slogan "Give us opportunity once to serve you." Earlier, Palvai Sravanthi, the party's candidate in the Munugode by-election, has expressed unhappiness with the remarks made by party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for demoralising the Congress leaders.
