According to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao (KCR), the leaders of the farming community in 26 states made a plea to him yesterday, asking him to get involved in national politics to defend the nation's farmers. The Chief Minister urged attendees of a public meeting in Peddapalli on Monday to overthrow the Modi administration, which he alleged shields corrupt corporators. He has criticised the NDA government, which is governed by the BJP and requires states to limit giveaways. CM KCR strongly criticised the Central government for interfering with state welfare programmes and questioned PM Modi about the deaths of more than 70 persons who died in his constituency after ingesting cheap alcohol. He declared that not a single Telangana welfare initiative would be visible in Gujarat.
