Munnuru Kapus in merged mandals are included in BC-D category

Amaravati, August 21: The AP government issued a GO recognising Munnuru Kapus residing in seven mandals which were merged with truncated state of Andhra Pradesh from Khammam district during state bifurcation as BC-D. These seven mandals are Chintoor, Kunavaram, V.R. Puram, and Yetapaka in combined East Godavari district and Kukunoor, Velairpadu, and Bhurgampadu mandals in erstwhile West Godavari district. The GO was issued after it was brought to the notice of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visit to flood-hit areas of Polavaram merged mandals. In Telangana, Munnuru Kapus are placed in BC-D category.
