Nara Lokesh Vs Gudivada Amarnath war of words over investments in the state
The opposition Telugudesam party and the ruling YSRCP are often at odds in Andhra Pradesh. The controversy surrounding the inauguration of the ATC Tires Company in Ankapalle has now added some fuel to the political fire.
While criticising CM Jagan, TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh demanded the administration to release a white paper listing the names of businesses that expressed interest in making investments in the state during the course of three years and four months. He claimed they are prepared for a debate on this subject. The TDP MLC has further claimed that the leaders of the ruling party have been taking credit for initiatives that were originally put forth by the TDP government.
According to Nara Lokesh, the former chief minister Chandrababu's proposal resulted in the approval of more than 100 industries for investments of Rs 1,000 crore. He claimed that CM Jagan's recent trip to Davos was to network with influential industrialists secretly.
Gudivada Amarnath, the minister of industries for Andhra Pradesh, responded to Lokesh's remarks. Additionally, he has asked that the former IT Minister Lokesh release a white paper listing the names of the businesses that shown interest in making investments. Gudivada Amarnath recalled the recent remarks of the Consulate General who claimed that Andhra Pradesh has a favourable business climate and is looking to attract businesses to set up here. On this matter, he has suggested that Nara Lokesh listen to the Consulate General.
The Minister has questioned the outcomes of four partnership summits and the investments made during the five years the TDP was in power. He also responded to Lokesh, who purportedly indicated that he will disclose a significant swindle within a week.
