Watch: Robots monitoring environmental situation in Italy

Science and Technology plays an important role in our day to day activities. As part of it, a four-legged robot is developed to study the environment. The robot is developed in such a way that it got abilities to learn more about its surroundings. It has been programmed to examine plant life and determine whether it is healthy or not. It can also measure things like the height and width of trees with the help of sensors and cameras. It returns to base for a battery swap after two hours of walking and inspecting. Robotic monitoring, in the opinion of the research team that founded the natural intelligence project at the University of Pisa, is essential for the efficient protection of environments. Both on land and at sea, where access can be more difficult for human researchers, robots are deployed. Maria Siclari, director-general of ISPRA (Institute for research and protection of environment). added, 'I would like to stress the monitoring of underwater marine habitats, employing these robots that can dive to a depth of more than 1,000 metres in order to map out the seabed so that we are able to recreate the bed in a 3D model
