US House passes Bill to ban assault weapons

The world's most powerful country is making efforts to reduce gun violence as it spreads across its culture. After almost 20 years, a bill to outlaw semi-automatic weapons was approved by the US House of Representatives. The bill's sponsor is Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the House. This law was approved by the House of Representatives, which is dominated by Democrats. Despite the fact that America has a strong gun culture, just two Republicans backed this legislation. The bill to outlaw semi-automatic weapons appears to be headed for failure in the Senate. Republicans' cooperation is necessary for Democrats to pass this legislation. However, the Republican Party has characterised this Arms Prohibition Bill as an election gimmick. Only 50 of the 100 senators in the US Senate are Democrats. Due to the Republicans' blatant opposition, the bill has little chance of passing in the Senate.
