"India not creating good jobs, see protests against Agnipath": Raghuram Rajan

Speaking on democracy and development as part of the "India at 75" lecture series, the former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan said that strengthening liberal democracy is in India's best interests and that the nation may become a "Vishwa Guru," but not based on outdated ideologies. Rajan went on to say that India's disregard for human capital is a concern and that the slow growth of the nation is not solely attributable to the pandemic but also to poor leadership. Actually, the cause of our poor performance may be the world financial crisis and its consequences. Our main issue is that we are not producing enough high-quality employment.
