Open Anna Canteens, Nara Lokesh urges CM Jagan

Amaravati, June 26: TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh wrote a letter to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, seeking to reopen Anna Canteens across the state. He mentioned that Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu had launched Anna Canteens when he was CM with a noble intention of providing tiffin and food to the poor for only Rs 5. Lokesh also brought to the notice of the CM that previous TDP government had allocated Rs 200 crore for running Anna Canteens. “After YSRCP government came to power, payment of bills to Anna Canteens stopped,” he stated and added that lakhs of poor people are suffering with the closure of canteens.
