Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, attacked the Central Government's handling of the sale of public sector undertakings by insulting state governments' rights. He wrote a letter to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to that effect. Telangana's Industries and Information Technology Minister claimed that the Modi government was selling assets worth Rs 40,000 crore, including land allocated to several PSUs. In this backdrop, KTR questioned how the Central Government could sell lands given by the state government for the establishment of PSUs. He urged the central government to review the measures, failing which the Telangana government would vigorously oppose them.
