The government of Andhra Pradesh has issued a gazette notification to create 26 new districts in addition to the current 13. This brings the overall number of revenue divisions to 72. The gazette published on Saturday night said that all new districts will be established on April 4 (Monday). The state government's aim for reorganising the districts was to make each parliamentary seat more geographically and administratively convenient. During the district restructuring process, the administration guaranteed that each assembly constituency was assigned to a single district. Some mandals have been amalgamated with adjacent districts in response to local representatives. This assured that the residents of the individual constituencies had no administrative challenges.
