India restores 5 year E tourist visas with immediate effect
Due to the corona, the central government banned the issuing of several sorts of visas to foreigners in March 2020. The Center has agreed to begin granting five-year e-tourist visas to nationals of 156 countries immediately. Regular tourist paper visas for all qualifying countries have also begun to be issued for a term of five years. According to existing rules, nationals of these countries will also be eligible for the issuing of new e-visas for visitors.
The government took the action "in light of the improvement in the Covid-19 situation in the nation and the necessity for further relaxing of visa and travel restrictions," according to the home ministry.
