Marokkasari: A Telugu Love Story Filmed at One of the World’s Highest Lakes
Marokkasari is an upcoming Telugu feel-good love story produced by B Chandrakanth Reddy under the banner CK Film Makers. The film stars Naresh Agastya and Sanjana Sarathy in the lead roles and is written and directed by Nithin Lingutla.The film is set to hit the screens across all South Indian languages, aiming to reach and resonate with audiences across the southern states.
Going beyond conventional filmmaking boundaries, the makers of Marokkasari chose challenging and visually rich locations to preserve authenticity and emotional depth. The film was extensively shot across Kerala, capturing its natural landscapes, and at extreme high-altitude locations near the Tibet border, including Gurudongmar Lake in Sikkim.
Located at an altitude of approximately 5,430 metres (17,800 feet) above sea level, Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world. Marokkasari is the first Indian film to be shot at Gurudongmar Lake, marking a rare visual feat achieved under extreme filming conditions and special Armed Forces permissions. The shoot was executed in an environment marked by severely low oxygen levels, extreme cold, restricted shooting hours, and unpredictable weather, presenting significant challenges for the cast and crew.
The production faced multiple logistical hurdles, including difficult terrain, limited transportation access, equipment movement delays, complex local permission procedures,communication and power constraints, and fluctuating climatic conditions. Throughout the schedule, the health, safety, and morale of the cast and crew were given top priority, ensuring smooth execution despite the harsh environment. Production Head: Anudeep Paduru has performed a very appreciable role .
Currently, Marokkasari is in the final stage of DI at the prestigious Annapurna Studios,Hyderabad, where final colour grading and visual finishing are underway to achieve the film’s intended cinematic tone.The film brings together a strong technical team, with Rohit Bachu as Director of Photography, Chota K. Prasad handling editing, and Bharath Manchiraju composing the music, all working in close collaboration with writer-director Nithin Lingutla.
During the post-production phase, producer B Chandrakanth Reddy interacted with the media,sharing insights from the film’s journey and the responsibilities involved in mounting a project of this scale.
