Court Halts Defamatory Video, Paradise Seeks ₹3 Crore in Damages from Shaik Mansoor, Mahboob Hussain, and Others
Order of taking down the fake content extends to anyone who circulates the video from the original source as well.
Hyderabad, 05 April 2024: Following a Civil Defamation suit filing by Paradise Food Court against the perpetrators of a fake video posted by an online social media channel (Instagram account ‘telugucrimefiles2023’) to defame Paradise Food Court recently, in the City Civil Courts, Secunderabad, the court has ordered action against the perpetrators and has extended action against anyone involved in circulating the video from the origin. The Court has ordered to takedown the misleading video, comments, posts, updates vide the social media accounts or any other links wherein defamatory and unpopular statements are made by the Channel against Paradise.
Further, the court has granted an ad-interim injunction in favour of Paradise and against the channel, its owner and other account where the video has been posted, thereby restraining them and their men or any other person on behalf from making or publishing any defamatory statements, posts, updates, videos, audios, articles, comments, etc. against or concerning brand “Paradise” on any public or private platforms including in all social media, internet, websites, TV Interviews, all forms of print and electronic media or through any other medium.
The case was filed by Paradise against the channel for circulating the misleading video uploaded negligently without checking the content of the video to spread falsehood with an oblique motive to tarnish the reputation of Paradise Food Court.
Paradise has sought at the Court for the perpetrators to jointly pay Rs. 3 Crores towards the damages through acts to defame and tarnish their reputation. Paradise hopes that justice is delivered.
Paradise believes that the customer and the social media channel have apparently hatched a criminal conspiracy with some vested interest and ill-motivated persons to extort money and defame Paradise Food Court in the public thereby heaving harming business interest to the tune of crores of rupees.
Talking about the Court order on the unfair concocted video, Gautam Gupta, CEO, Paradise Food Court said that “The Hon’ble Court has accepted our plea and has granted ad-interim injunction against social media channel (telugucrimefiles2023) and those involved in it who have circulated the fake video of Paradise shall take down the video. This also extends to anybody who is circulating from the origin. It should also serve as a lesson to many such other ill-intentioned people who wish to damage the reputation of businesses and jeopardise the customer trust.”
