'Dacoit' Movie Review

Introduction
Adivi Sesh, known for choosing unique and different storylines, has built a strong reputation among audiences. His latest film “Dacoit ”, starring Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, released this Friday. With its promotional content creating decent buzz, let’s see whether Decoyit lives up to expectations and if Adivi Sesh delivers another fresh concept.

Plot Summary
Haridas (Adivi Sesh) is serving a jail sentence after being falsely accused in a murder case. Determined to take revenge for the injustice, he escapes from prison with the help of Ishad Bhai (Atul Kulkarni). After escaping, Haridas plans to go to Dubai, but he needs money for that.

At the same time, he also wants to settle his revenge. When he meets his former lover Saraswati alias Juliet (Mrunal Thakur), he finds her with a child, while her husband Bhaskar (Vaibhav) is critically ill in the hospital. Saraswati urgently needs one crore rupees.

Using her vulnerability, Haridas plans both revenge and financial gain. What happens next? Why does Haridas seek revenge on Saraswati? What wrong did she do? Why was he framed in the murder case? What roles do CI Rambabu (Anurag Kashyap), Karuna Hospitals MD (Prakash Raj), and Malla (Kamakshi Bhaskarla) play? The rest of the story answers these questions.

Analysis
Adivi Sesh has earned audience trust by consistently choosing unique scripts. Since he himself wrote the story and screenplay for Dacoit , expectations were even higher. However, the film lacks novelty in both story and narration.

That said, the stylish presentation, technical quality, and a few thrilling moments partially meet expectations. The movie begins with an inter-caste love story, followed by twists and action elements. However, the initial romantic and jail sequences feel slow and fail to create a strong first impression.

Though the reasons behind the breakup and the hero’s imprisonment are somewhat engaging, the narrative does not gain consistent momentum. Some scenes feel repetitive. After the hero escapes from jail, the pace improves, and the action and chase sequences provide some thrills.

The second half brings emotional depth, especially with the revelation about the heroine, which increases interest. However, the hospital robbery episode appears weak and illogical. The film overlooks logical consistency in several scenes.

The cat-and-mouse game between the hero and CI Rambabu is engaging and well-shot. However, despite being set during the COVID period, the film fails to realistically portray that situation. The heroine’s character also feels conveniently written to suit the screenplay.

The climax is somewhat convincing but reminds viewers of older films. It feels like the entire story was built around these final sequences. Also, some scenes seem forcefully added to elevate Adivi Sesh as a mass hero. Overall, the film does not deliver the complete satisfaction seen in his previous works.

Performances
Adivi Sesh appears in a different, more mass-oriented role as Haridas. Though he initially struggles with the Rayalaseema accent, he improves as the film progresses. Better dialogue delivery could have enhanced his performance further. However, he performs well in action and emotional scenes.

Mrunal Thakur does justice to her role as Saraswati, which has good scope for performance. She impresses in almost every scene. Anurag Kashyap delivers a solid performance as a CI. Prakash Raj, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, and Atul Kulkarni have limited scope and perform adequately within their roles.

Technical Aspects
The background score supports even weaker scenes effectively. Cinematography enhances the film’s visual appeal, and the overall production values are good. The film stands out in terms of making quality and stylish presentation.

Final Verdict
Dacoit  Movie Review: With a routine storyline, stylish action sequences, and a few engaging twists,Dacoit  manages to impress in parts but falls short of delivering a fully satisfying experience.
