N Valarmathi, the voice behind the countdowns for numerous Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launches, including the recent Chandrayaan-3 mission, has sadly passed away at the age of 64. ISRO officials confirmed her passing and highlighted her role in conducting countdowns for numerous space agency launches at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. Valarmathi, who previously served as a project director for the remote sensing RISAT-1 project in 2012, is reported to have succumbed to a heart attack. She played a pivotal role in the recent launch of the DS-SAR remote sensing satellite aboard the PSLV C56 rocket on July 30 and the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft launch on July 14, showcasing her significant contributions to ISRO's missions.
